Detail My Ride (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website
detailmyride.ca (the “Site”), including the campaign
landing pages under detailmyride.ca/lp/. This Privacy Policy explains how we
collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information in accordance with
Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following personal information when you interact with our Site:
- Contact information: name, email address, phone number
- Vehicle information: make, model, year, and condition (provided when requesting a quote or booking)
- Service preferences: the package or service requested, preferred dates or times, and any notes you add to a form
- Photographs you upload: images of vehicle damage submitted through our collision repair quote form
- Service address: where applicable, the location for mobile detailing or vehicle pick-up and drop-off
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and referring URL (processed automatically by hosting and security infrastructure)
- Campaign attribution: the landing-page path, UTM campaign parameters, and Google advertising click identifiers (such as GCLID, GBRAID, and WBRAID) when they are present
2. How We Collect Information
- Quote and booking forms: when you submit a form on our Site, we collect the information you provide directly. For campaign quote requests, we store the landing-page path and any campaign attribution values present with the quote record.
- Security and form infrastructure: our hosting and bot-protection providers process limited technical data needed to serve the Site, prevent automated abuse, and deliver form submissions.
- Campaign measurement: our campaign landing pages use Google Tag Manager to load approved measurement tags. Our own campaign events report only that a quote request was accepted or that a telephone link was clicked. They do not include form fields, contact details, or the contents of uploaded photographs.
- By phone: when you call or text us, we collect the information you choose to share in order to answer your question or book your service.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the personal information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiries and provide quotes
- Schedule and confirm appointments, including mobile service and vehicle pick-up and drop-off
- Communicate with you about your service (for example, appointment reminders, readiness notifications, and follow-ups)
- Assess vehicle condition and prepare accurate estimates, including from photographs you submit
- Improve our Site, services, and customer experience
- Measure and optimize advertising campaigns
- Comply with legal obligations
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:
- Resend: to deliver email notifications related to your booking or inquiry
- Cloudflare: to host supporting services, protect forms from automated abuse, and process form traffic
- Google: to provide Tag Manager and any approved advertising or analytics measurement tags on our campaign landing pages
- Insurance providers: where you ask us to work with your insurer on a collision repair claim, we share the information needed to process that claim
- Service providers: trusted third parties who assist us in operating our Site and business, subject to confidentiality obligations
- Legal requirements: when required by law, regulation, or legal process
Some of these third-party services may store or process data outside of Canada,
including in the United States. By using our Site, you acknowledge that your
information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions with different
privacy laws.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Site may use cookies or similar storage for security, form functionality, and
campaign measurement. Our campaign landing pages use Google Tag Manager to load
approved Google measurement tags, which may process technical data such as browser
information, page and referring URLs, advertising click identifiers, and IP address.
Our own conversion events record only that a quote request was accepted or that a
telephone link was clicked; they do not include form fields or contact details. You
can limit cookies through your browser settings and manage Google advertising
choices through Google’s ad settings.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the
purposes outlined in this policy, or as required by law. Contact and booking
information is typically retained for the duration of our business relationship and
for a reasonable period afterward for follow-up, warranty, and record-keeping
purposes. Photographs submitted for a repair estimate are retained with the
associated quote or work order.
7. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your
personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no
method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot
guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights Under PIPEDA
You have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you
- Request access to your personal information
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Withdraw consent for the collection, use, or disclosure of your information (subject to legal or contractual restrictions)
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below. We will
respond to your request within 30 days.
9. Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL)
We comply with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation. Submitting a quote request or
booking gives us your consent to contact you about that request. We will only send
you commercial electronic messages beyond that — such as promotional emails or
texts — with your express consent. Every marketing message we send includes an
unsubscribe mechanism, and we will process your opt-out request within 10 business
days.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our
practices or legal requirements. The updated policy will be posted on this page
with a revised “Last updated” date. We encourage you to review this page
periodically.
